Brian Wafawarowa

Brian Wafawarowa is the founder and managing director of New Africa Books, a general and educational publishing house in Cape Town, South Africa. He is also the chairman of the African Publishers’ Network (APNET), based in Accra.

APNET represents 46 African countries with an observer status on the African Union. He is the national chair of the transformation committee established by the ministry of Arts and Culture to develop a national book policy in South Africa. He also works closely with the International Publishers Association, where he has served on the Copyright Committee for a number of years.

This was a planning and scoping opportunity to develop a comprehensive project plan for the Scholarly Communication in Africa project, launched in 2010.
